Let us remember that our faith must be tested in order to prove its genuineness. It is God who is not only the author, but also the finisher of our faith. He knows better than you and I how to perfect that which He started in us. David, as a young man, was anointed as the king of Israel, yet Saul was to David a less than gracious leader.
In reality Saul was David's faith training. God did not forget David, during his seven years of wilderness running from Saul. His eternal goodness is what protected and promoted David. Our faith will be tested, because God is completely committed to our perfection. (James 1:2-4)
The goodness of God is all around us today, even though we may not see it or recognize it. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Ester, Ruth, Jonah, Daniel, Gideon, and billions of others have wondered about God's eternal goodness, but be assured that you are His favorite and you are the apple of His eye.
