Pursuing God’s Presence

Recently I, Andrew, was in the Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport when I saw an advertisement that featured Tiger Woods, a professional male golfer. The advertisement showed him in high brown grass, preparing to hit his next shot, under adverse circumstances. It was understood that his previous shot was not a good one and the shot he was now preparing to take would not be an easy one. The slogan read something like, “10% what you did, 90% how you will respond.”

10% what you did, 90% how you will respond

The greatest driving passion Tiffany and I have in our lives is the pursuit for more of a purified passion for God’s precious presence. We want to be worshipers of God. One who gives his and her entire heart in the pursuit of God’s eternal purpose. A person who pursues the presence of God with a purified passion will not have their life completely together, but they will have their heart going in the right direction.

To pursue God’s presence with a purified passion is

not to claim perfection, but rather persistence.

Like Tiger Woods, we have hit some bad shots and made some bad decisions, but in the heart of one who desires to be a worshiper of God, life is more about how we respond than what we did. During this brief, fleeting moment of time we all have on this earth, it is important to know that each of us, no matter what we have done, can run to God’s mercy and grace. To pursue God’s presence with a purified passion is not to claim perfection, but rather to be persistent.
